چکیده

The cross-laminated timber coupled wall (CLT-CW) system, a recently proposed timber-based structural has limited understanding of its seismic performance. existing research in probabilistic fragility assessment (PSFA) CLT buildings reveals gap, particularly regarding comprehensive evaluation CLT-CW systems and the impact various design parameters. To fully describe state post-earthquake performance structures, state-of-the-art studies recommend using multi-variate analysis. Accordingly, this article presents bi-variate PSFA two engineering demand parameters: maximum residual inter-story drift ratios. For seismicity Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, 11 prototype are evaluated considering different coupling ratio, beam shear force profile, configuration, building story height, ductility-related modification factor. Bi-dimensional numerical models developed OpenSees, incremental dynamic analyses performed 30 ground motion records. Three limit capacities three function combinations utilized to develop curves. curves under compared, effect parameters is investigated. This study contributes deeper systems, assisting engineers researchers assessing risk developing seismic-resilient structures.

Effect of seismic sequences on fragility of Iranian code-conforming shear wall RC buildings

Background and objective: Estimating the vulnerability rate of urban textures in seismic incident following a major earthquake (aftershocks) is crucial in decision making and crisis management. For this purpose, it is necessary to calculate the vulnerability of buildings due to the successive incidents and to use them in the vulnerability estimation for probable future aftershocks. Seismic frag...

Seismic Fragility Assessment of RC Frame-Shear Wall Structures Designed According to the Current Chinese Seismic Design Code

After learning from several devastating earthquakes in China in recent years, stricter design criteria have been introduced in the current Chinese seismic design code. To investigate the reliability of the current seismic design code, seismic fragility analyses were performed for 45 10-story reinforced concrete (RC) frame-shear wall structures designed according to the current Chinese seismic d...

Seismic Fragility Assessment of Special Truss Moment Frames (STMF) Using the Capacity Spectrum Method

Fragility curves represent the probabilities that structural damages, under various levels of seismic excitation, will exceed the specified damage states by means of earthquake intensity damage relations. Conceptual aspects related to seismic vulnerability, damage and risk evaluation are discussed first, together with a short review of the most widely used possibilities for the seismic evaluati...

Seismic fragility assessment of RC moment resisting frame buildings designed for different editions of Iranian seismic design code

Background and objective: Developing fragility and vulnerability functions are important tools in seismic reliability assessment of buildings and are widely used in regional seismic risk studies. To date sufficient studies for developing analytical fragility functions for Iranian code-conforming buildings have not been carried out. Performing such studies are necessary to assess the adequacy of...

Spectral evaluation of seismic fragility of structures

ABSTRACT: An approach for assessing the seismic fragility of inelastic structures is presented. In this approach, the structural response, which is evaluated from response spectra with an associated probability distribution, is compared with the performance limits states to assess fragility. Formulas that provide the probability distribution of spectral ordinates are developed based on the cros...
